A peace plan in action. I'm Jane Fergus, Fox News. The first phase of the Gaza peace deal is underway with a ceasefire in effect and Israel moving their troops back to previously agreed lines. Fox's Jennifer Griffin is in Tel Aviv and she shows us how the deal was achieved.

Fox News obtained an exclusive photo of the president's special Middle east envoy, Steve Witkoff, visiting Gaza on he was accompanied by the lieutenant general in charge of the IDF staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir. He was also accompanied by Admiral Brad Cooper, the head of centcom. They were visiting the base where the IDF troops had pulled back to Admiral Cooper released the following statement. America's sons and daughters, he writes in uniform, are answering the call to deliver peace in the Middle east in support of the commander in chief's direction in this historic moment, this great effort will be achieved with no US Boots on the ground in Gaza.

And there are believed to be 48 hostages still in Gaza, but only 20 are thought to still be alive. A hostage swap is expected to begin on Monday. The S&P 500 suffered its biggest one day Friday drop since April as the US goes on the economic offense against China. Fox's Alexandria Hoff has more the president.

Threatening new tariffs on China on social media, saying he would implement a a 100% tariff on Chinese imports plus export controls on all critical software. This fury sparked by China's new export restrictions on rare earth minerals, which also includes restrictions on equipment used to mine rare earth, forcing exporters to apply for licenses and the rejecting of export requests for products used in military goods. Because of this, President Trump also suggested the possibility of canceling his planned meeting with President Xi.

Federal workers across the government are being notified of reductions in force. A spokesperson for the White House budget Office says layoffs are substantial. The Trump administration has warned of layoffs if the government shutdown continued, a departure from previous shutdowns when federal workers were furloughed but brought back to work once the spending bill was passed. A group of unions representing federal workers is suing, asking a federal judge in San Francisco to block the firings, arguing the administration is improperly using the shutdown as the basis for layoffs.
