French Prime Minister Sebastian Lecournu says he will propose suspending President Emmanuel Macron's plan to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64, trying to win enough support from different parties to keep a governing coalition together. Le Cornue tells members of the national assembly the law would be put on hold until after the next presidential election in 2027. There were mass protests two years ago when France's parliament pushed through a law to gradually raise the retirement age three months at a time, depending on what year retirees are born.
