The unrest in Minnesota continues. I'm Ted Lindner. Fox News. President Trump has threatened to use the Insurrection act to send soldiers to Minneapolis where anti ICE protesters have been demonstrating. Fox's Ashley Strohmeier with more.

The Trump administration is putting 1500 active duty soldiers on standby to deploy to Minneapolis. That's where pro and anti ICE protesters have been demonstrating for weeks. The troops are from the 11th Airborne Division based in Alaska. And Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey warns it would be a shocking step if President Trump invoked the Insurrection act and sent troops to Minneapolis. People marched and rallied once again in sub zero temperatures on Sunday. President Trump's threat to send in troops comes a day after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz mobilized the state's National Guard. They have been activated but not yet deployed.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry has also rejected Homeland Security Kristi Noem's idea of creating designated protest zones. Major EU leaders decide Sunday to wait a couple of weeks to see if President Trump pulls the tariff trigger and imposes fines on several EU allies to force Denmark into selling Greenland to the U.S. but they've had a lot to say about the threat, including calling it blackmail.

Denmark's foreign minister says they're trying to get President Donald Trump to abandon the idea of purchasing Greenland and explore a more diplomatic path forward. EU leaders are in talks in Brussels and one option thrown out there is hitting the U.S. with retaliatory tariffs. They could meet again. On Thursday. NATO's Secretary General Mark Rutted a phone call with President Trump saying they will continue working on this. President Trump insists it's critical for America's national security. Also, the land is rich in minerals.

And that's Fox's Stephanie Bennett. And a high speed passenger train crashes in southern Spain Sunday night killing at least 39 people on board. Dozens of others were wounded. Somewhat serious injuries. The train traveling from Malaga, Spain on the southern coast up to Madrid when the train derailed and jumped onto the parallel train track, crashing when another oncoming passenger train happened on a flat stretch of track renovated in America's Listening to Fox News.

The move to recognize the civil rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner came just four days after his assassination in 1968, but it took another 15 years of grassroots efforts and public support before it was made official. President Ronald Reagan signed the bill into law in 1983, designating the third Monday in January as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The first official day of observance was January 20, 1986.
