The president laid out several steps that state and local law enforcement could take to more or less ease the tension between his state and the feds. The conversation comes amid reports that Greg Bevino is now moving from his role as commander at large for the Border Patrol back to his former post in California. Meantime, Governor Walz called his chat with the president productive. Writing this on X the president agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota.

A federal appeals court siding with the Trump administration Monday in a ruling that blocked federal ICE agents from using pepper spray and tear gas on protesters in the state. The 8th U.S. circuit Court of Appeals putting a lower court ruling on hold. The Trump administration argued the initial ruling endangered immigration officers and public safety. Group of residents filed a lawsuit in December alleging officers were violating their First Amendment rights at protests after the death of anti ICE protester Alex Preddy by a US Customs and Border Protection agent Saturday. Thousands of flights were canceled across the country Monday following the deadly winter storm that hit over the weekend, with travelers at Boston Logan International Airport seeing the worst of it. Fox TV affiliate Boston 25 News is Drew Caritas is at the airport with more.

The fallout of a massive winter storm that swept across much of the US Led to hundreds of cancellations and hundreds of delays at Logan, which had the highest rate of canceled flights out of any airport in the country on Monday, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. The widespread disruptions came after Sunday marked the largest flight cancellation day in the US since 2020 during the early days of the pandemic. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says the FAA still likely needs another full day to recover from significant flight disruptions across the United states.

More than 5,000 flights were canceled in the US on Monday and at least 30 people have reportedly died because of the storm. Activists now say more than 6,000 people have been killed in the crackdowns against protesters in Iran. This is the USS Abraham Lincoln has arrived in the Middle east as President Trump expands his options for action against Iran if necessary, and a few dozen Iranian immigrants deported in their home country as President Trump continues threatening Iran's leadership. The Trump administration sent a deportation flight of nearly 40 Iranians from the US to Iran on Sunday, according to the American Immigration Council, which represents some of the Iranians slated for deportation. This is the third ICE deportation flight to Iran since September. It's part of what the Trump administration says is its broader mass deportation strategy. Human rights groups say this could be a death sentence for these Iranians.
