Mix of ICE and CBP agents immediately leaving the Twin Cities region. Tom Homan said after he reached an agreement with state and local officials to have county jails notify ICE of criminal aliens before they are released back onto the streets so federal immigration officers can get them while they are still being held in custody and not have to go out into the communities to find them. Homan says this is smart, smart law enforcement, not less law enforcement. And he emphasized that this agreement does not force local authorities to do any federal immigration enforcement themselves or even keep aliens a single minute past their scheduled release.

Well. The man who tried to assassinate President Trump on his Florida golf course two months before the 2024 election and two months after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to life in prison, the sentence handed down by Judge Aileen Cannon, who had previously called the suspect not a good man. The defendant's attorney, Martin Roth, says they'll appeal. I think the judge may have mistakenly applied the federal crime of terrorism enhancement and that probably the leading issue on appeal. I will be filing a notice of appeal in this case. Prosecutors said this guy camped outside of the president's golf course in 2024. A circuit service agent testifying he spotted the suspect. The man aimed his rifle at the agent who opened fire, causing him to drop his weapon and run away without firing a shot.
