Capitol Hill, 35 days ties the record for longest government shutdown in U.S. history. Congress has been unable to come to an agreement on reopening the government as Democrats remain firm on demanding the Affordable Care act premium tax credits be included as part of a deal that. The other longest government shutdown happened during President Trump's first term from December 22nd of 2018 to January 25th of 2019. That impasse was mostly over border wall funding. President Trump is encouraging Republicans to end the Senate filibuster in order to pass a stopgap measure to reopen the government. On Capitol Hill, Ryan Schmell's FOX News.
