Hoping for a breakthrough. I'm Ted Lindtner, FOX News. With the federal government shutdown now into its 38th day on this Friday morning, Senate Majority Leader John Thune says he's got a plan to get Democrats on board then the government shutdown. Thune telling his colleagues Thursday his stopgap funding bill will fund the government until January and provide a full year of funding for veterans and food assistance programs. House Speaker Mike Johnson, however, telling reporters he cannot commit to holding a vote and extending pandemic era Obamacare subsidies, which are set to expire at the end of this year. Democrats have made that a core requirement for their support. The Senate so far has voted down a continuing resolution 14 times. Travelers are bracing for chaos as today the flights are being reduced at the country's busiest airports because of the shutdown. Fox's Jessica Rosenthal explains the FAA has.

Ordered airlines to reduce the number of flights by 4% starting today, ramping up to 10% next week at the nation's busiest airports, including Atlanta, Denver, Dallas, Orlando, Miami and San Francisco. The National Air Traffic Controller association president Nick Daniels says staffing issues are getting worse as they've now missed two paychecks and some workers are having trouble paying for gas, food and childcare.

United says some regional and domestic flights that do not fly between hubs will be impacted. Delta and American say they anticipate most travel will will carry on a schedule, but they will help schedule changes and offer refunds to those impacted. Jessica rosenthal, FOX NEWS And a statement.

From Joint Base Andrews spokesperson confirming multiple people fell ill after an individual opened a suspicious package Thursday. Those people were evaluated and treated by medical personnel and were later determined to be in stable condition and released. The building and a connecting building were evacuated. First responders were dispatched to the scene and determined there was no immediate threats. America's listening to FOX News.
