A deadly shooting. I'm Debra Valentine. Fox News Police in Newark, New Jersey are investigating a deadly mass shooting in the south side of the city. Two of five victims have died, including a child. Fox 5 New York's Arthur Chan reports.

A 10 year old boy is dead as is a 21 year old woman. Three others, including an 11 year old boy were also shot. Those individuals are in stable condition. It is unclear right now what led to the shooting. Governor Phil Murphy posting on ex about the shooting, asking for prayers for the victims and their families. No word right now if anyone is in custody. All the Essex county prosecutor's office will say at this point is that an active and ongoing investigation is underway there. They're asking anyone with information on what happened here to call the prosecutor's office.

No motive for the shooting has been released and no arrests have been announced. The Essex County Prosecutor's office is investigating the FBI arresting a suspect in connection with attempted attack on acting U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, Alina Habba. Fox's Connor Hanson has details on the attack.

It's another frightening reminder of the threats against public officials even for an experienced prosecutor. Alina Habba told Fox this hits too close to home. The FBI says he showed up to the federal building in Newark, New Jersey, where Habba's office is holding a baseball bat. He was initially turned away but was allowed inside after returning without the bat, according to investigators. They say he then smashed and destroyed property at the U.S. attorney's office. Haba says a recent streak of political violence won't slow down her work.

More than 20 million people in Southern California are bracing for more flooding, strong winds and mudslides as heavy rain continues to fall across the region. Some areas could see more than an inch per hour Right now evacuation orders are in effect for places still recovering from wildfires due to elevated risk in burned areas. Flooding is blamed for at least two deaths.

John Kennedy, a Republican out of Louisiana, plans to revive a bill to prevent lawmaker from being paid during a federal government shutdown. Kennedy told Kayleigh McEnany on Fox's Saturday in America about setting an example for those who went without pay during the shutdown.
