Earlier this year, the Texas legislature approved a new congressional map backed by President Trump that aims to give Republicans up to five additional seats in the U.S. house. A panel of three federal judges recently blocked the map's use, finding the boundaries are likely unconstitutional because they were drawn based on race. Texas officials appealing disputing this. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito temporarily reinstated the map. The full Supreme Court now moving to maintain the order while it reviews the case. The decision comes ahead of Monday's deadline to file for candidacy in the U.S. house at Texas primary elections in March. Kristen Goodwin, FOX News.

California Democratic leaders have taken steps to counter the Republican effort in Texas. Other states are also moving to alter their congressional districts. And there's been another drug boat strike in the Caribbean. U.S. southern Command says that War Secretary Pete Hegseth directed the joint task force Southern Spear to conduct the lethal kinetic strike on a vessel in international waters operated by a designated terrorist organization. Four male narco terrorists aboard the vessel were killed, bringing the number of deaths connected to these strikes to 86. The FBI has arrested a man suspected to have planted pipe bombs outside the RNC and DNC headquarters in January of 2021. FBI Director Cash Patel speaking with reporters at the Justice Department on Thursday, directing blame at the former Biden administration for not acting on this case sooner.
