The deadline to extend subsidies under the Affordable Care act is growing closer as lawmakers wrestle on extending them or finding an alternative. Fox's Chad Pergrim on Capitol Hill with.

More Health care has vexed Congress for years. This week is no different. Senate Democrats plan a test vote Thursday on a bill to renew Obamacare money. That issue was central to the government shutdown, but most Republicans reject that. Obamacare tax credits expire at the end of the year. There's a push from a coalition of bipartisan lawmakers for a separate plan. It would reform Obamacare. They say any package must have buy in from both sides. Republicans are using the occasion to torch Obamacare. But Republicans have struggled for years to find an alternative to Obamacare.
Ted Lindner
President Trump and congressional Republicans failed to dismantle Affordable care Act in 2017. The GOP has floated a proposal to extend the subsidies for two more years while figuring out a broader alternative. But Democrats want a clean extension without any changes to the law. If you could stop somebody from breaking in before they got inside, why wouldn't you? Most old school systems go off after someone's already in your place. That's too late. Simplisafe is different. It's proactive with a double layer of defense that stops crime before they start. First, AI powered cameras spot potential threats outside. Then live agents step in, talking to the person through the camera, letting them know they're on video and police will be dispatched if they don't leave. They can even trigger a loud siren or spotlight. That's how you help stop a crime before it starts. Plus, there's no contracts and Simplisafe was just named the best home security of 2025 by U.S. news & World Report. Florida announced Monday it was designating two Muslim groups as foreign terrorist organizations, the transnational organization Muslim Brotherhood and the Muslim advocacy group the Council on American Islamic Relations, or care for short, Fox's Ashley.
Ashley Strohmeyer
Strohmeyer. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made the announcement on X posting. Florida agencies are hereby directed to undertake all lawful measures to prevent unlawful activities by these organizations, including denying privileges or resources to anyone providing material support. CAIR has denied ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group with offshoots that include Hamas, and says in a statement, like Greg Abbott In Texas, Ron DeSantis is an Israel first.
Ted Lindner
Politician. The move comes after Texas designated the two organizations as foreign terrorist organizations last month. Democrat Minnesota Congressman Elon Omar pointed the finger at the FBI as the state's Democrat leaders continue to face questions about a fraud.
Mike Tobin
Scandal. Fox's Mike Tobin Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is on the defense. First she said that defrauded programs lack sufficient guardrail to stop it. And then she went on to say that if some of these stolen tax dollars made their way to Somalia and the terror group Al Shabaab. She said this on Face the Nation. Really essentially she said that is the fault of the courts and the FBI for not stopping.
Ilhan Omar
It. If there was a linkage in that, the money that they had stolen going to terrorism, then that is a failure of the FBI and our court.
Mike Tobin
System. Analysts with whom we spoke say it's unlikely that Omar would not have had some exposure to the.
Ted Lindner
Corruption. Minnesota Democratic Congresswoman Elon Omar has not been directly linked to the scheme. 87 people have been charged in the fraud, most of them from the Minnesota Somali community. And no big winner in Monday night's Powerball jackpot draw means the jackpot continues to grow for Wednesday night now up to at least $930 million. There was a match five winning ticket worth a million bucks sold in Florida. I'm Ted Litner. This is Fox.
