The grocery chain Wegmans facing questions about collecting biometric data on anyone who enters their stores.

Gothamist reports The Rochester, New York Wegmans posted signs that biodata, including eye scans, voice prints and facial recognition are being collected. Wegmans website says that may include license plates outside. The company tells Fox 5 it's for the safety of customers and employees to identify people, flag for misconduct, deter and prevent or prosecute illegal activity. The store asset protection team determines persons of interest on a case by case basis and they don't share facial recognition with any third party.
