President Trump settling a lawsuit with the estate of singer Isaac Hayes over use of the hit song Washington Hold On, I'm Coming without permission during his campaigns.

The estate filed the copyright infringement lawsuit in August of 2024, alleging the Trump campaign used the song in videos and at campaign events during his 2020 and 2024 presidential bids. The announcement was made by Hayes's son, Isaac Hayes III on X, saying in part, the lawsuit has been mutually resolved and we are satisfied with the outcome. Without disclosing any monetary details, Hayes, who died in 2008, co wrote the song that became a 1966 hit for Soul duo Sam and Dave. Sam Moore, one half of the duo who died last year, was against the lawsuit.
