This ruling after hearings in a lawsuit by a civic organization arguing that the West Virginia Republican governor exceeded his authority when he authorized the Guard's deployment. More than 20 years after a study warned hormone replacement therapy could increase the risk of breast cancer, the FDA is removing the black box warning on more than 20 hormone based pills, patches and creams used to treat menopause symptoms. FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says the study's findings were misrepresented and the labeling change reflects a more nuanced evidence based communication of risks. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Says no study has shown in an increase in breast cancer mortality.
