The newest House Democrats sworn in just a short time ago by the House speaker. Congratulations, you're now a member of Congress. Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva won a special election in September to fill her late father's seat and calls the delay of swearing in an abuse of power. Johnson had maintained it was not unusual with the House not in session. Democrats, though, accused him of trying to block the push to release the full Jeffrey Epstein files, the new congresswoman becoming the 218th signature needed on a discharge petition to start that process. White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt says Epstein was wasn't an issue for Democrats during the Biden White House this wasn't an issue that they cared about because they actually don't care about the victims in these cases. They care about trying to score political points against President Trump. This while answering questions about emails leaked by House Democrats raising questions about the president's past ties with the late sex offender Levitt, repeating that the president did nothing wrong. House Speaker Mike Johnson says he's angry about one provision included in the Senate stopgap bill. It would allow Republican lawmakers to sue over government searches of their phone records. But that caught House Republican Republicans by surprise.
