A community in shock. I'm Lisa Brady, FOX News. Police in California say longtime college football coach John Beam, legendary in the Bay Area, has died a day after being shot on the Laney College campus in Oakland. A 27 year old suspect arrested earlier today.

In this case, I can just tell you that the individual that was arrested went specifically to the campus for a specific reason.

Police say the two men knew each other, but the extent of their relationship is unclear. John Beam was working inside the field house at Laney College when he was shot yesterday afternoon and a massive manhunt continued until early this morning when the suspect was spotted by police at a bus stop.

A federal appeals court let stand the hate crime convictions. Three white men who chased and fatally shot ahmaud arbery, a 25 year old black man nearly six years ago in georgia. The 11th circuit rejected defense arguments that racial messages did not prove racial motivation, instead agreeing with prosecutors that the men acted on pent up racial anger. Greg and Travis McMichael and neighbor William Roddy Bryan pursued Arbery as he jogged through their neighborhood and recorded the fatal shooting. Announcing it plans to roll back some of the restrictions on commercial flights that it began phasing in one week ago at 40 major airports during the government shutdown. That order has affected thousands of flights. Three Chinese astronauts back on Earth after a longer than expected stay in space.

They were there since April and stayed put on China's Tiangong Space Station for an extra nine days because their return ride, the Shenzhou 20 descent module, had tiny cracks in a window, likely from space debris. The astronauts went home on the Shenzhou 21, which had flown to the station by a new three person crew to start their own six month mission. The capsule landed in the Gobi Desert in China. The astronauts came back with four mice who'd been on the Shenzhou 21 trip to study how weightlessness would affect them. The Chinese Academy of Science says the mice adapted to the microgravity environment in a very short period of time and that they could eat, drink and sleep on their own.
