FBI Director Cash Patel moments ago at a briefing on the shooting. It happened just a few hours ago near a subway stop blocks from the White House. It's described as a targeted attack and a suspect is in custody. The D.C. police chief just telling reporters.

How the suspect was apprehended. As I said, the individual, the suspect came around the corner. He immediately started firing a firearm at the two National Guard members. So at that time, there were other National Guard members that were in the area. They heard the gunfire. They actually were able to intervene and to kind of hold down the suspect after he had been shot on the ground until law enforcement got there within moments.

The suspect is also hospitalized. The West Virginia governor has said both injured soldiers are with his state's National Guard. Initially posting both had died, but again, they are now said to be in critical condition. President Trump deployed Guard members for from multiple states to D.C. as part of a federal crackdown on crime. Wisconsin Republican Congressman and retired Navy SEAL Derek Van Orden. Just telling Fox, I was in D.C.

President Trump has asked me and I will ask the secretary of the army to the national guard to add 500 additional troops, National Guardsmen to Washington, D.C. this will only stiffen our resolve.

A criminal case in Georgia accusing then former President Trump and 14 others of election interference trying to overturn 2020 results is dismissed after the new prosecutor on the case filed a motion to drop it, in part citing the complicated legal issues and costs of trying to separate the president's case from the others now that he's back in office. President Trump posting that justice has prevailed, calling the case an illeg unconstitutional and un American hoax. But the president also losing a round in court in the fight over a lawsuit.

President Trump and his former lawyer Alina Haba will still have to pay $1 million for filing a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and James Comey. A federal appeals court upholding the penalty after A judge in 2023 called the lawsuit frivolous and brought in bad faith for an improper purpose. The president in Haba accused Clinton, Comey and over two dozen others of trying to tank the 2016 campaign. This is the second legal setback for the president after a Department of justice case against Comey was dropped.

Fox's Rice Bells in Washington, price cuts are coming for more drugs under Medicare.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Revealing after months of negotiations, pharmaceutical companies have agreed to cut the Medicare prices for 15 prescription drugs. The cost cuts range from 38 to 85% for drugs that treat asthma and cancer and a 71% discount on weight loss and type 2 diabetes drugs, including Ozempic. Federal officials say Medicare enrollees are expected to save $685 million on out of pocket costs when the cuts take effect in 2027.
