Oil prices are up more than 7% today and stock futures are down. Traders had been looking for more de escalation in Iran. European leaders are discussing ways to reopen and keep open the Strait of Hormuz to oil shipping traffic.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer says diplomatic, political and military measures are all on the table, but plans will only be put into action once the fighting has stopped. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital energy shipping route that's effectively been blocked by Iran since it was attacked by the US and Israel. This virtual summit hosted by the UK comprises high ranking officials from 35 countries. Republicans in Congress are pushing ahead with a two pronged plan to end the homeland Security shutdown.

The plan would include the House approving a Senate pass bill that funds most of the department with the exception of immigration operations. The House rejected that proposal last week and Congress then adjourned for a two week recess. The House and Senate would then move to fund the rest of ICE and Border Patrol through a budget resolution process by June. It's not a guaranteed fix. Without much support expected from Democrats, the measure would need near unanimous support from Republicans at the White House. Jared Halpern, FOX News.
