shortstop Wander Franco has been found guilty for the second time in a Jamaican republic court of sexual and psychological abuse of a minor but will avoid prison time after being granted a judicial pardon. A judge in his decision considering that the 25 year old had been the victim of extortion and blackmail by the miner's mother, who herself was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually trafficking her daughter. Franco was arrested in 2024 after being accused of engaging in a relationship with a 14 year old girl and transferring money to her mother in exchange for consent.
