There are numerous candidates on the ballot. The top two in the voting, regardless of party, go to a runoff. That's the same in Los Angeles where Mayor Karen Bass is facing challenges, including Spencer Pratt. The president suggests the US And Iran could work out a deal within a week. Iran's threatened to stop talking unless Israel stops attacking Hezbollah and Lebanon.

The president says he had a very productive call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that no Israeli troops will go to Beirut. Israel's government ordered strikes in Beirut suburbs Monday, a day after ground forces reached deeper into the country than at any point in the last 26 years. To representatives, President Trump says he also had a very good call with Hezbollah and says the militant group agreed that all shooting will stop.

Police call to a home in Muscatine about 50 miles southeast of Cedar Rapids. They say when they got there, they found the first four people fatally shot. They then say they tracked 52 year old Ryan Willis McFarland to a trail where he took his own life as officers closed in. Two other relatives were later found shot to death at another location.

A win for transgender rights activists in a federal appeals court keeping in place a judge's block on a Trump executive order to remove transgender troops from the military. The ruling allows those troops to keep serving but does not allow new recruits. War Secretary Pete Hegseth reacted on XCU at the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, on a video on social media, Hegseth also keeps pushing to boost the Pentagon's budget to $1.5 trillion.

The secretary said that not enough has been done for the military off of the battlefield for far too long and announced that $90 billion will be spent on service members living conditions when they return to duty.

Officer Carson Heider of Shelby, North Carolina is charged with assault. The 22 year old turned himself in Monday. Doorbell video appears to show Hyder pummeling Cheryl Moore, breaking her nose and busting her lip. He was responding to a report of a break in at the time of the beating. She was initially charged with breaking and entering, resisting arrest and assault on a public officer, but the latter two charges have since been dropped.
