According to the U.S. geological Survey, a magnitude 7.2 quake struck roughly 100 miles west of Caracas, followed by a 7.5 magnitude just a minute later. The interior minister saying the quake shook several states in the country. And more than 20 aftershocks have also been felt.

At least 32 people are dead, hundreds more injured. Numbers expected to rise as rescuers keep going through the rubble of damaged homes and buildings in Venezuela and Caracas and other areas. Marco Rubio is in the Middle east to meet with counterparts about the war and the next steps in efforts toward peace. Secretary Rubio indicated again that America prefers the diplomatic track to play out, but there are other options. While we want a deal, we don't want a deal at any price.

President Trump mentioned Iran at a rally on the National Mall in Washington to kick off the Great American State Fair ahead of the 250 celebration. Thanks to the power and skill of the United States Armed forces today, Iran has no navy, no air force, no anti aircraft capacity. The president was also happy the Senate reversed course in a new vote on a war powers resolution, this time rejecting limits on his actions against Iran, though the president had called the approval Tuesday meaningless.

And it came after President Trump met with GOP senators on Capitol Hill Wednesday. There was a blow up between Senator Bill Cassidy and President Trump after Cassidy says he demanded transparency on the conflict.

Steiner's asking Congress to raise the Postal Service's borrowing limit, reform retirement plans and consider whether legally mandated six day mail deliveries to all addresses is sustainable.
