And that was after 2am as Republicans finally approved what's called a rescissions package, clawing back more than $9 billion in federal funding.

Already approved, focused heavily on foreign aid and public broadcasting, including npr. It passed the Senate largely on the party line vote. Every Democrat voted against it except one who is ill and had to go to the hospital. Mitch McConnel McConnell was a yes after voting against it in the first two procedural rounds. There were two Republican no votes. Here they are, Senators Collins and Murkowski.

More anti Trump protests are planned for today across the country in more than a thousand locations protesting the president's illegal immigration raids as the Trump administration is being sued again.

Joining a number of immigration advocate groups as plaintiffs are 12 migrants who have at one point been placed in handcuffs as their cases were heard.
