Dozens of Democratic Texas lawmakers remain out of state to block a vote on a congressional redistrict and to give Republicans five more House seats in the 2026 elections. Some of those Democrats went to Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker tells NBC's Meet the Press.

GOP Texas governor GRE Abbott is trying to remove some of those Democrats from office, telling Fox News Sunday these lawmakers have abandoned their seat because we are incapable of conducting business for the people of Texas because they have fled. This is the most un Texan thing we've ever seen. It'll likely be emotional in court today in Maryland, where Rachel Morin's family can testify at her killer's sentencing. The mother of five was murdered while out jogging in 2023 by a man in the US illegally.
