The White House confirms that deputy director for Health and Human Services, a man by the name of Jim o', Neill, will now serve in the role of acting director of the cdc. Now that is the very same position that Susan Menarez held before being elevated and then dismissed. Word of her firing actually prompted a wave of resignations at the agency, including several top officials. And while HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Said he previously handpicked her for the job at a MAHA event in Texas, he said this there's a lot.

The Trump administration is reportedly working to stage ICE agents at a military base near Chicago after President Trump threatened to send the National Guard to the city to respond to crime. WFLD Fox 32 Chicago's Paris Schutz has the latest.

So the plan is to send this to the Great Lakes Naval Station about an hour north of Chicago. A base spokesperson has confirmed that the Trump administration has requested, quote, limited support for DHS operations from September 2nd through the 30th. Now Superintendent Stelling also stressing that his officers will not assist ICE agents who attempt to conduct raids, nor will Chicago cops ask for the immigration status of crime victims or anyone seeking help.

While Governor Gavin Newsom criticizes President Trump for deploying the National Guard to D.C. newsom announced his own deployment to fight crime. He says he's expanding the deployment of California Highway Patrol officers to cities, building on existing crime fighting efforts statewide. Newsom claims his announcement is not in reaction to the president. Well, some of his critics just aren't buying that. And they say his announcement and all of his mocking of President Donald Trump online is not enough to help the Democrats. California sued the Trump administration over its deployment of the National Guard and the Marines to LA in June. A judge is set to rule on the legality of that move.

And the Treasury Department is calling on US Financial institutions to monitor for suspected Chinese money laundering networks. And an advisory went out Thursday to banks, brokers and others asking banks to flag customers who fit a profile. I'm Sue Guzman. This is FOX News.
