Charlie's murder was not just an attack on one man or one movement. It was an attack on our entire nation. That's President Trump among tens of thousands who packed a football stadium in Glendale, Arizona, to pay tribute to Kirk 11 days after his assassination.

It was Kirk's wife, though, Eric, who gave perhaps the most moving speech of the evening. She spoke about the heartbreaking moment she saw her husband's body at the hospital in Utah. She emphasized her husband's faith and she said she would forgive Kirk's killer.

California is taking on President Trump with a new law that won't take effect till next year that his administration plans to challenge in court. Saying the state has no jurisdiction over federal law enforcement.

California governor Gavin Newsom signed a new law Saturday banning law enforcement officers from wearing face coverings which conceal their identities. The governor explaining the need for the law.
