And Israel gradually withdraws as a civilian led committee begins the process of establishing a post war Gaza government. Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House where the president also tried to work out a deal to avert a government shutdown tomorrow if there's no funding agreed to today.

The roughly hour long meeting with President Trump and top congressional leaders on Monday yielding no breakthroughs. Republicans want a temporary spending measure that the House already passed. It keeps funding at current levels while lawmakers continue to work through the appropriations process. But they're accusing Democrats of making unreasonable demands. One of the things they're calling for is an extension of the Obamacare subsidies which expire at the end of the year. And without them, premium payments could go up for millions of Americans.

It's being held at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. The purpose for the unprecedented conference for which the secretary summoned the generals and admirals has been the subject of intense speculation surrounding potential personnel cuts. But now the president is telling reporters the meeting is not a bad one, that it is intended to be positive.
