Starting tomorrow, though, states have sued the Trump administration trying to get a court to order contingency emergency funds be tapped into. Hurricane Melissa has been hitting Bermuda after causing at least 15 deaths in Jamaica, where the devastation's widespread has hit one of the most powerful hurricanes ever when it hit Jamaica.

The State Department is asking the US Military to help with disaster relief in Jamaica and the Bahamas by providing air support for airlifts of food, water and other supplies to remote areas cut off by Hurricane Melissa.

The American Civil Liberties Union argues the Food and Drug Administration violates federal law by restricting access to mifepristone, a medication for abortions and miscarriage management without scientific justification. The FDA's restrictions include requiring patients to review a counseling form and a special certification for prescribers and pharmacies. A federal Judge finding the FDA's 2023 decision to maintain the restrictions was unlawful under the Administrative Procedure act by failing to provide a recent explanation for its restrictive treatment of the drug.
