Fox News Hourly Update – 6PM ET, July 19, 2025
Hosted by FOX News Podcasts, this episode of the Fox News Hourly Update provides comprehensive coverage of the latest events shaping the national and international landscape. Below is a detailed summary encapsulating all key discussions, insights, and conclusions presented during the broadcast.
[00:02] Daria Albinger opens the episode with a grim report on a recent tragedy in East Hollywood, California. A driver rammed his vehicle into a crowd outside a reggaeton nightclub, resulting in at least 30 injuries.
[00:15] Christina Coleman elaborates on the chaotic aftermath. She states, “It was definitely a chaotic scene after a driver rammed his vehicle into a crowd” and outlines the sequence of events leading up to the incident. Initially, police received a call about shots fired around 2:00 AM, leading them to discover that the individual shot was the same person who had driven into the crowd. An altercation erupted between the driver and bystanders, culminating in the driver being shot. Authorities are currently investigating whether the driver’s actions were intentional, especially given the high-footfall nature of the area.
[00:50] Daria Albinger adds that bystanders assaulted the driver, who sustained a gunshot wound. The FBI has now joined the investigation following a deadly explosion at a police training facility in Los Angeles, where three deputies were killed.
The episode reports a devastating explosion at an LA County Sheriff's Department training center in East LA, resulting in the deaths of three deputies from the arson and explosive detail team. Federal authorities, including the FBI, are collaborating with local law enforcement to determine the cause and responsible parties behind this tragic event.
[01:10] The conversation shifts to political tensions as Daria Albinger introduces claims made by Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence. Gabbard is reportedly declassifying documents she asserts prove that the Obama administration attempted to subvert Prohibition, framing it as part of a “years-long coup” aimed at undermining President Trump before his inauguration.
[01:30] However, this narrative faces opposition. Senator Mark Warner of the Democratic Party issued a statement countering Gabbard’s claims. He emphasized that the Senate Intel Committee reviewed “hundreds of thousands of documents” and reached a bipartisan conclusion affirming that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to aid President Trump’s campaign, thereby undermining the suggestion of domestic subversion.
[01:50] The update touches upon the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, noting that during a recent missile attack by Russia, at least one individual was killed. This underscores the persistent volatility in the region and the broader implications for international security.
[02:28] Shifting to domestic politics, Daria Albinger reports on President Trump’s celebration of his "very successful first few months in office" during a dinner with Republican Senators in Washington.
[02:38] Madeleine Rivera, Fox News correspondent in Washington, covers President Trump's accolades towards GOP senators for passing the "one big beautiful bill." Trump specifically commends Senate Majority Leader John Thune, highlighting his role in navigating the legislation through a slim Senate majority. The bill in question, the GOP Resiti Bill, includes significant provisions such as clawing back $9 billion from foreign aid and public broadcasting funds.
[03:00] President Trump expresses anticipation of facing more resistance bills in the future, aiming to leverage these legislative moves to resonate positively with voters ahead of the next election cycle.
[03:15] Another major legislative milestone celebrated is the Bipartisan Genius Act, which President Trump signed into law. This act represents the first major cryptocurrency regulation in U.S. history, specifically targeting a cryptocurrency type known as "stake." The law is anticipated to provide a structured framework for the burgeoning digital currency market, ensuring both innovation and security.
Further addressing international concerns, President Trump expresses optimism regarding the release of remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza. He referenced a related development where relatives of hostages marched to the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, urging Prime Minister Netanyahu to adopt the peace strategy advocated by Trump. The relatives demand a ceasefire and a comprehensive hostage release deal, emphasizing that “After 652 days, it is time to do what is right for Israel. Bring all 50 hostages home and end this war,” as stated by Ifrat Machikawa, a relative of a recently released hostage.
A new poll conducted by Harris X reveals that Zorad Mamdani is leading the race for New York City's next mayor. The survey, which canvassed 585 registered voters, shows Mamdani with 26% of the vote, followed by:
These insights indicate a competitive and dynamic mayoral race, reflecting the diverse political landscape of New York City.
In international news, representatives from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda-backed rebels have signed a Declaration of Principles during a meeting in Qatar. This agreement marks a significant step toward ending decades-long conflicts in eastern Congo, signaling hope for sustained peace and stability in the region.
