A peace plan in motion. I'm Jane Fergus, Fox News. The first phase of a Gaza peace deal is underway, with a ceasefire currently in effect and a hostage exchange expected soon. Speaking to a crowd of thousands in Tel Aviv, Israel, special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff thanked the negotiators and those who helped make this peace deal possible.

There are believed to be 48 hostages still in Gaza, about 20 of whom are thought to be alive despite the ongoing government shutdown. President Trump says he's come up with a way to make sure the U.S. military gets a paycheck. Fox's Jill Nadeau has more from Washington.

Some U.S. troops were concerned as their next paycheck supposed to be issued October 15th. With no end of the federal shutdown, it looked like they were going to have to go without. But President Trump posted on Truth Social his administration's found funds to pay the troops. He said, I will not allow the Democrats to hold our military and the entire security of our nation hostage with their dangerous government shutdown. But House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said earlier this week he would support a standalone bill to pay the military, and he urged lawmakers to pass it as soon as possible. Legend Diane Keaton has died. The Oscar winner whose glittering career spanned more than half a century, died in California. No further details were released by her family. She starred in hit films like the Godfather, First Wives Club, Something's Gotta Give and won an Academy Award for Annie Hall. Diane Keaton was 79 years old. America's listening to FOX News.

About 3,000 Mexicans are signed up to run in Sunday's Chicago Marathon, setting up a possible showdown with federal immigration agents. Some 43,000 parts participants are expected for the race, along with nearly 2 million spectators. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson mentioning the Mexican competitors at a recent news conference, calling for them to, quote, demonstrate resistance by not bending the knee to tyranny.
