Painter States have declared a state of emergency with a massive winter storm expected to affect half of the country. Freezing rain, sleet and snow are already becoming more widespread in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, and conditions are rapidly deteriorating across the Plains. FOX weather is also now calling for 8 to 12 inches of snow in New York with some mixing of sleet expected. Washington, D.C. is now forecast to get about 5 to 8 inches of snow, which is down from earlier estimates of 8 to 12 inches. The winter storm also forcing the disruption of more than 10,000 US flights.

Shortage for ODOT District 12 covering Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties. Public information officer Brent Kovac says despite already doubling the amount of salt used two winters ago, they're right on pace to use around 88,000 tons of salt, the same they used last winter. Cleveland city officials also warning residents about this upcoming stretch of weather. Mayor Justin Bibb says Governor Mike DeWine and ODOT helped the city get more salt. The but they're still short on deliveries from Cargill. They'll have to prioritize and only salt main roads, hills and dangerous intersections. All Washington, D.C. area federal buildings will be shut down Monday because of the impending storm. At least 18 states have declared states of emergency. D.C. has also declared a state of emergency. People protesting against ICE rally in front of Orlando's City hall and an ICE office where 23 year old Alexis Clark allegedly punched the side mirror and passenger window of a federal agent's car as the car tried pulling out of the parking lot. Orange county deputies arrested Clark and Sheriff John Mina says, quote, the right of all people to peacefully assemble or protest is fundamental and a cornerstone of every American's First Amendment right to free speech. What is not protected, however, is the destruction of property or violence against any member of our community. An FBI agent resigns over an investigation into the recent shooting of Renee Goode. Reports say the agent was a supervisor in the Minneapolis field office.
