Luigi Mangione was arrested a year ago today in Altoona, Pennsylvania, five days after the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO in New York City. A pretrial hearing resumes this morning in New York. Mangione's attorneys are trying to have some evidence excluded.

Luigi Mangione looked like he was ready to fight. He sat at the defense table pumping his fist like a price fighter. A preview of his defense strategy in court on the stand of Tuna police officer Christy Wasser, who looked through Mangione's backpack when he was arrested at McDonald's and then at the police station. She says she found a gun, the same one police say was used to kill the CEO of United Healthcare as he walked to a conference. Brian Thompson in court, police body cam showed that Wasser was going through his bag in the McDonald's. The defense says she did that without a search warrant. But Wasser says she was afraid of finding a bomb. Mangione's lawyers don't buy that and are trying to show that she was not telling the truth and that the evidence should be thrown out. The government of Honduras has issued an international arrest warrant for former President Juan Orlando Hernandez, pardoned by President Trump and released from federal prison in West Virginia last week, a year and a half into a 45 year sentence for drug trafficking. Where he is now is unclear. Violence is spreading along the border between Thailand and Cambodia.

Ten dead and thousands displaced in the last 48 hours. A ceasefire derailed and two countries countries unwilling to back down. We've got to do what we've got to do, warns Thailand's prime minister. While Cambodia's Senate president has promised his country will carry out a fierce fight. Thailand and Cambodia have been contesting territorial sovereignty along their 500 mile land border for more than a century. Both sides have blamed each other for the clashes.
