Violent clashes between pro Iranian protesters and security forces in Karachi, Pakistan today killed at least 22 people and injured more than 120. Authorities say the protesters stormed the US consulate and also attacked UN and government offices. The Middle east conflict has thousands of stranded air travelers scrambling to make new connections.

More than 1800 flights to airports in the Middle east were canceled Sunday as thousands of air passengers had to change flights. Airports in Israel, Qatar, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates were closed. Many flight cancellations were extended beyond Sunday with Emirates suspending all flights to and from Dubai until at least Monday afternoon. Air India suspended all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Qatar until Tuesday.
