We heard from the FBI Director Cash Patel, who said this was a targeted attack on two members of the West Virginia National Guard who were serving in the nation's capital as part of the mission to clean up DC this is a mission that has been underway for several months. We have seen Guards members come from all over the country at their governor's orders to deploy these resources. And officials are calling this a targeted attack. We heard from D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser who said this was horrific, that they're deploying all the resources that she has at her disposal. But what was also very clear about this is that this person appeared to have acted alone, that this wasn't a multiple group attack, but instead one person who was taken into custody but also was shot. No indication yet what the weapon was that was being used in this attack.

After he and the second lady served food to the troops at Fort Campbell, Vice President Vance addressed the crowd. He didn't mention the recent video of six lawmakers telling troops to refuse illegal orders, but did say, we don't just.
J.D. Vance
Want people who mindlessly follow orders, we want people who see.
Jessica Rosenthal
The vice president said one of the great stains on the country is that both parties have sent the military in to fight and die without a clear plan or mission.
J.D. Vance
At times, just as you follow orders of the president of the United States, this president stands by you. And if he asks you to do something hard, it's only going to be for a very good reason.

Vance also asked the troops to pray for the two National Guard soldiers shot in Washington, D.C. jessica Rosenthal, Fox News.

Thanksgiving travel rush is on. With millions of Americans on the move, weather could slow down travelers in the Great Lakes and Midwest. Fox Business Network's Kelly Saberry reports from o' Hare International Airport in Chicago.
Kelly Saberry
Right now we are seeing a little bit more traffic throughout the airport, more than we did throughout this past month when there was a reduction in air traffic. But things seem to be back to normal. But of course, now there is a ground delay that has been extended through 9pm for tonight because of snow and ice and other areas. We're being told the FAA says that they expect this travel week to be the busiest Thanksgiving period in 15 years. But this also comes as air travel analysts at Cirium said bookings for this week were actually down almost four and a half percent from last year. But TSA data kind of corroborates that.

Idea AAA is rejecting. Around 82 million people will be traveling for this Thanksgiving holiday. A federal three judge panel will allow North Carolina to use a redrawn congressional map aimed at flipping a seat to Republicans. The new map takes aim in North Carolina's only swing seat currently held by Democratic U.S. representative Don Davis, who represents more than 20 counties in the state's northeast. This is similar to a recent ruling in Texas where a redrawn U.S. house map is engineered to give Republicans five additional House seats. I'm John Saucier and this is Fox.
