But the president says he did not make a commitment. The U.S. backs Taiwan militarily. China considers the island its territory. Fox's Mark Meredith reports from the White House. The president will return around dinner time to Washington.

The two leaders talked a lot about trade while he was over there. The president says he left China with a commitment that it will spend a lot more of its money on American products, from Boeing airplanes to soybeans. The president says bringing CEOs along with him helps sell America.

Women across the country can continue to get an abortion pill by mail after a Supreme Court decision to keep a lower court ruling on hold.

That ruling determined an in person visit to a doctor was necessary to receive the medication. Thursday, the high court granted the drug maker's emergency requests while the legal challenge plays out. The original case challenging the use of the drug was brought by the state of Louisiana, which sued the Food and Drug Administration to challenge a regulation that allowed mifepristone to be prescribed through telehealth and dispensed by mail, arguing it violated the state's sovereignty.

Prosecution and defense experts all agreed that Edward Busby intellectually disabled. But that didn't stop his being put to death by way of a lethal injection. A lower court ordered the execution held up, but that was overturned by the Supreme Court.

And it's fox's Gary Baumgarten. In his last words, Busby apologized, saying he never meant for the 77 year old woman he kidnapped in 2004 to die. Then he died. It's been several weeks since three members of Congress resigned. Democrat Sheila Sherfeless McCormick over fraud allegations. Fellow Democrat Eric Swalwell is facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. And Republican Tony Gonzalez over an affair with a staffer who committed suicide. And now another House Republican is under scrutiny.

The ethics committee is investigating allegations of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Chuck Edwards, a Republican from North Carolina and married, is accused of inappropriate conduct with younger female staffers. Axios reports. For example, one now former staffer complained about Edwards pressuring her to go out for dinner and drinks and when she left, wrote her a note telling her she'd, quote, written a complex chapter in my heart, the congressman says in a statement. stock futures are down big the day after record highs for the Nasdaq and the S&P 500, oil prices up 3%. Round two is underway this morning at the PGA Championship at Arana Mink in Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia, golf second major championship of the year. Seven golfers are tied for the lead after round one at three under par, including defending champion Scotty Scheffler.
