President Trump, though, did not put his thumb on the scale in the Georgia Senate primary. Congressman Mike Collins and Derek Dooley will compete again in the runoff next month as Republicans try to unseat Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff.

Now in Texas, the president's backing Ken Paxton and next week's Republican runoff, Senator John Cornyn's challenger. Days after another GOP senator the president wanted ousted in Louisiana, Bill Cassidy lost his primary. And Cassidy joined a few other Republicans and most Democrats backing a war powers resolution in the Senate voting to allow it to proceed toward a final vote attempting to limit the president's military actions in Iran. Now Vice President Vance says despite delaying resuming bombing Iran to let nuclear talks continue, we're locked and loaded. We don't want to go down that pathway, but the president is willing and able to go down that pathway if we have to. We're learning more about President Trump dropping his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over leaked tax returns. Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House.

The U.S. government is dropping tax claims against President Trump, his sons and the Trump organ. A one page document posted to the Justice Department's website says the federal government is forever barred and precluded from investigating or pursuing tax claims currently pending.

Right now, 37% of Americans approve of the job the president's doing, up from 33% in April in this AP Newark center for Public Affairs Research poll. Immigration remains his strongest issue overall, improving to 45% this month. He's lost some Republican support on the economy. About six in ten approve. Two thirds of Republicans and about one third of Americans overall approve of the president's handling of Iran. He's at 36% approval on foreign policy in general. Chris Foster, FOX News.

Hawa Abdullah, remembering her father, Amin Abdullah, a security guard at the Islamic center of San Diego. To me, my dad was a role model. He was a best friend. Calling him a loving father, husband, son, brother and uncle, he stood against any form of hate. He took his job seriously to protect everyone here. Abdullah was one of three men fatally shot by two teen gunmen Monday. Police say he engaged in a gun battle with the suspects, saving lives. Kristin Goodwin, FOX News.
