Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick called the president's event motivational. The president says the bill would lead to $1.7 trillion in savings. But the bill has hit some major snags after the Senate parliamentarian rejected some key provisions, including some related to Medicaid. These were key to help offset the cut cuts of the bill, a must for fiscal conservatives. Some Senate Republicans admit the parliamentarians ruling could delay their work. But the White House is optimistic the bill will head to the president's desk by July 4. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says he won't overrule the parliamentarian. Democrats are praising her findings. Meantime, as they continue to slam the Republican bill.

Now Democrats continue to argue the bill will primarily benefit wealthy Americans and corporations. The Trump administration continues to push back on an initial government report leaked that it suggested US Strikes against Iran's nuclear sites only set the nuclear program back by a few months.

The court has six cases left, including one that will determine if federal judges can issue nationwide injunctions rulings that temporarily stop a rule or law from taking effect but apply it to the whole country. Three judges issued such injunctions after the president signed an order ending birthright citizenship. The court may not issue a ruling today on it, though, since they heard arguments later in the term. Another significant ruling includes one that will determine if religious parents can opt out of having certain books read to their children at school. Thursday, one of the more significant rulings had the justices siding with the state of South Carolina's rule that bars Medicaid dollars from being spent at Planned Parenthood because the agency performs abortions. Door hearing where Brian Kohberger's defense was supposed to present evidence connecting others to the crime, the judge didn't buy it, saying, quote, the evidence defendant has offered purporting to establish the four individuals as alternate perpetrators objectly fails to meet the meister standard. Namely, the evidence is entirely irrelevant. The nothing links these individuals to the homicides. A last minute attempt by his lawyers to delay his August trial also failed after the judge issued an order denying his request for more time.

Now Kohberger could face the death penalty if he is convicted. And U.S. health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Says the country is pulling its support from the vaccines alliance Gavi, saying the organization ignored the science and lost the public trust. Kennedy mentioned the partnership with World health organization during COVID 19, accusing them of silencing dissenting views and legitimate questions about vaccine safety. Deadline Looms for Government Funding
President Donald Trump is exerting pressure on Senate Republicans to pass his proposed spending bill by Independence Day. Hosting an event aimed at motivating Republican senators, the administration is pushing for the bill’s swift approval.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick described the event as "motivational" (00:13).
President Trump claims the bill will result in "$1.7 trillion in savings" (00:13), emphasizing its importance for fiscal conservatives.
Challenges Faced: The bill has encountered significant hurdles after the Senate parliamentarian rejected key provisions, particularly those related to Medicaid. These cuts were essential to offset other reductions within the bill, making it a crucial element for opponents of increased government spending.
Senate Republicans' Outlook: Some Republican senators acknowledge that the parliamentarian's decision could delay the bill's progress. However, the White House remains optimistic, aiming to present the final version to President Trump by July 4.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune stated, "I won't overrule the parliamentarian" (00:53), indicating a commitment to procedural rules despite potential delays.
Democratic Response: Democrats are lauding the parliamentarian's findings, arguing that the bill disproportionately favors wealthy Americans and corporations. They continue to criticize the Republican proposal, asserting it undermines fiscal responsibility.
Leak Sparks Investigation and Partisan Blame
The Trump administration is responding robustly to a leaked government report suggesting that recent US strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities only delayed the nuclear program by a few months.
President Trump accused Democrats of the leak, stating, “The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the perfect flight to the nuclear sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted” (01:08). He announced that the FBI is investigating the breach and that the White House is tightening its information security measures, limiting access to classified data exclusively to Congress.
Closed-Door Briefing: A classified session was held yesterday, led by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Joint Chiefs Chair General Dan Kaine. Despite this, both Republicans and Democrats remain divided on the effectiveness and implications of the strikes.
Democratic Concerns: Brook Singer reports that Democratic senators, following the briefing, are skeptical and are calling for more comprehensive information to fully understand the strikes' impact (01:49).
