President Trump is urging Republicans in Congress to do what the Supreme Court ruled he cannot, by executive order outlaw birthright citizenship for babies born in the US to parents here illegally or temporarily. Now the court has also this week rejected a Trump appeal in a sexual abuse civil case.

Jean Carroll is asking a Manhattan judge to require President Trump to pay her $5 million from a 2023 jury verdict that concluded he sexually abused her in the 1990s and defamed her, went public about the attack in 2019. Her lawyers say Trump's attorneys contacted them about delaying the payout while he asks the Supreme Court to reconsider its decision.
