Trump is putting Iran on notice. Attacks on tankers moving through the Strait of Hormuz will not be tolerated. Overnight, the US launching 80 attacks on Iranian targets. Iran responded overnight launching their own counter strikes at targets in Kuwait and Bahrain. We just got a statement from the Qatar who said that they are not happy with Iran launching these attacks on their Mideast allies. And while these latest strikes appear over for now, CENTCOM says it is standing by if more action is needed.

The Maine Democratic Party says Platner's team has repeatedly reached out to them, asking what the replacement process would look like. Democrats are now scrambling to replace Platner. One of the names being floated include former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson. He filed paperwork to open an exploratory committee. Senator Bernie Sanders had stood behind Graham Platner despite his previous scandals. Now he's pulling his support, saying, I have spoken with Graham Platner about the best path forward for Maine in light of these very serious allegations. I have recommended that he step aside.

Maryland Democrats are pushing to amend the state constitution to redraw congressional maps after this year's midterm elections.

Maryland lawmakers will return for a special session in August to begin the process of potentially redrawing the state's congressional districts before the 2028 election. Democratic leaders say recent court rulings have created uncertainty over redistricting laws and want voters to decide whether lawmakers should have the power to make mid decade map changes. If the General assembly approves a constitutional amendment, the proposal would go before voters this November.
