He also had warned that Iran would take a beating for trying to attack a base in Jordan. And U.S. central Command says they completed a heavy wave of strikes. Fox's Peter Ducey reports from the White House.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the idea behind Admiral Brad Cooper's high option is to go beyond the smaller retaliatory airstrikes that have done little to deter Tehran from threatening ships in the Strait of Hormuz and lobbing missiles at American forces in the region by sharply escalating the war.
