At least 100 arrests already made this week. And the Trump administration expected to deploy more resources throughout the District by this weekend. We have seen a number of crimes still pop up, though with homicides as well as other notable events. There are still questions how long this deployment may last. The president says the federalization of D.C. s police department is years overdue. He also hopes to extend this emergency despite lingering questions on his authority to do so.

Well, anything beyond 30 days would need Congress's approval. There's been another prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia the day before the Trump Putin summit when the president in Alaska will push Russia's leader again to stop the war or face severe economic sanctions. And he's already pushing for a second meeting that Ukraine's leader might attend.

The manhunt continues in Kentucky for the gunman who murdered a mom yesterday.

It happened around 8am yesterday morning as young children and parents were gathering at bus stops in Louisville. There in Kentucky, police saying a woman was shot and killed while walking a child to a school bus. The child thankfully was not hurt, but local WDRB News reporting the victim was a young mother just taking her daughter to school and the suspect is still at large. Police releasing pictures saying they are looking for a young black male wearing a red hoodie and black sweatpants.

Three sheriff's deputies in Pennsylvania County, Virginia, said to be doing well the morning after being injured by shrapnel when a man they were serving warrants to started shooting. That led to a standoff until he was arrested. A man in Florida who had just hit a jackpot is now in jail and is going to have to spend some of that money on a lawyer.

The winner of the largest Kentucky Powerball jackpot in history, arrested in Pinellas County, Florida, a day after claiming the $167 million prize. 50 year old James Farthing captured on police body cam video release Wednesday being tased after he allegedly kicked a cop in the face.
