That's the House's approval today. The GOP led state Senate will vote, but Democrats plan to file lawsuits claiming the new districts violate federal law as Republicans try to block what California Democrats may approve today. Governor Gavin Newsom's plan would ask voters in a special election to bypass an independent district in commission and let them redraw maps that could give Democrats 5 more in the 2026 elections. We don't have last night's DC arrest numbers yet, but the Trump administration is touting the 550 in the past week in a crime crackdown in the nation's capital. We brought some law and order Back to Washington, D.C. vice President Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth went out and visited some of the National Guard troops deployed and some residents showed up as well, angry over the troop presence of my city. And I think you hear these guys outside here screaming at us. Of course, these are a bunch of crazy protesters. The waves breaking out here are 10 to 15 footers, but they're breaking well beyond the pier. One thing that's staying offshore, as we thought might happen, is the rain. We might not get any rain out of this hurricane. And once again, inland, it's a non story. But on the beaches, we're concerned about beach erosion.

Director of the Office of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, is laying out plans for a significant shrinking of her office, announcing what she calls the ODNI 2.0. In a statement, Gabbard says over the past 20 years, the office is bloated and inefficient and rife with abuse of power and unauthorized leaks. She says a reorganization will cut the workforce and the budget by $700 million a year. The office was created in the aftermath of 911 to direct and oversee the nation's 18 intelligence agencies. But Gabbard has accused her predecessors of weaponizing and manipulating intelligence during and after the 2016 election. At the White House, Jared Halpern, FOX.

News the Centers for Disease Control is also cutting back a union that represents CDC employees as at least 600 have been fired. Today and tomorrow could be life changing for the Menendez brothers, who are trying to get out of prison in California. Their case got renewed interest over allegations that they had killed their parents because their dad had sexually abused them.

Eric and Lyle Menendez are set to make their cases for parole almost 30 years after being convicted of murdering their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989. In May, the brothers, who were 18 and 21 at the time of the murders, became eligible for parole after a Los Angeles judge reduced their sentences from life without parole to 50 years to life. Eric's hearing is set for today and Lyle is due before the panel on Friday, both done via videoconference. If they are granted parole, it could be months before they're actually free, if at all. The chief legal counsel would have 120 days to review the case, and then Governor Gavin Newsom has 30 days to affirm or deny the parole. Tanya J.
