These orders came down last week for those ranked one star and above to meet with Secretary Hegseth this week. Now, the original invitation, it did not cite a reason. So of course, that fueled some speculation mainly surrounding the pledge that Secretary Hegseth made to make cuts to the jet general officer corps. Then came the announcement that President Trump would be attending today. And he told NBC that this meeting is celebratory. He said, quote, it's just really a very nice meeting talking about how well we're doing militarily.

Fox's Alexandria Hoff @ the White House where yesterday President Trump laid out a peace plan to stop the war in Gaza if accepted by Hamas. His proposal calls for the release of all remaining hostages. Hamas is reviewing the plan that many Arab leaders support. So does Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave his okay at a White House meeting. But if Hamas rejects it, as you know, Bibi, you'd have our full backing to do what you would have to do. Netanyahu says Israel would finish the job, continuing the war. President Trump also met with congressional leaders in both parties trying to work out a deal to fund the government by tonight to prevent a shutdown tomorrow. The government shuts down. It's because Republicans have decided to shut the government down and hurt the American people. That's House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries pushing for provisions to extend health care subsidies. But GOP Congressman Brad Knott tells Fox all they want is a seven week funding extension. We on the Republican side just are not budging until they get back to, I would say, reasonable ground. There's really not a lot to discuss there. A Ukrainian man's been arrested in Poland suspected of being involved in underseas explosions, damaging Nordstrom gas pipelines between Germany and Russia after Russia's war in Ukraine had started. In Indonesia, rescuers keep trying to get to dozens of students trapped after their school collapsed. America's listening to FOX news.
