They'll try again at the Senate this morning. I'm Dave Anthony, FOX News to fund the government which is shut down for an eighth straight day. Fox's Peter Doocy is at the White House.

Both sides are still really dug in. It does not seem like there are any plans for Democratic congressional leaders to come here to the White House to try to negotiate a way out. And it doesn't really feel like President Trump is in much of a hurry to talk to them.

And I really think that these are people that I think they have nothing to lose. They have a party that's out of control now.

The president has also suggested some furloughed federal workers may not get back pay when the funding stalemate is finally resolved. Some federal workers deemed essential have to keep working without pay, like air traffic controllers. But some have been calling out sick. And this morning There are nearly 500 flight delays on top of more than 9,000 the past two days. Now to Chicago, where Fox's Jeff Manasso reports.

Hundreds of Illinois National Guard troops federalized and hundreds more have arrived in suburban Chicago, courtesy of Texas Governor Republican Greg Abbott to help keep immigration agents and facilities safe, immigration action that Governor Pritzker and other Democrats have railed against. They've also filed suit over the use of the National Guard here, calling it illegal.

Well, a federal judge has given the Trump administration a today deadline to detail where the troops would be sent and what they'd do once deployed. The president is a high profile critic of his illegal immigration crackdown.

Pop Leo XIV has met visiting American bishops in the Vatican, telling them to take a firm line in support of migrants who fear deportation from the United States. Mark Seitz, the bishop of El Paso, Texas, telling reporters that the pontiff is very personally concerned.

For a third day, Israel and Hamas are holding indirect talks in Egypt discussing President Trump's ceasefire plan for Gaza to stop Israel's war and free the last hostages.

[Steve Harrigan]

The two sides have exchanged names, Hamas giving a list of prisoners it wants freed, also supplying a list of roughly 48 hostages, 20 of them still believed to be alive. Still, though, major challenges ahead on both sides. Israel wants Hamas to disarm completely. That's not something Hamas has agreed to for its side. Hamas is saying it wants a guarantee that once it gives up the hostages that Israel will not restart a war.

That's Fox's Steve Harrigan in Tel Aviv now. Yesterday marked two years since the Hamas terror attack that triggered Israel's war. And at the White House, President Trump.
