Waiting with anticipation. I'm Jack Callahan, FOX News. People in the Middle east and around the world awaiting the release of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas during the vicious October 7th attack two years ago. Fox's Jackie Ibanez with the latest.

The ceasefire in Gaza continues to hold as anticipation builds for Hamas to release all remaining Israeli hostages. That's expected to begin sometime Monday morning ahead of a noon deadline. Hamas is still holding 48 hostages right now. About 20 are still believed to be alive. This marks the first phase of President Trump's 20 point peace plan agreed to this week. It includes releasing all hostages and Israeli military pullback, humanitarian aid and freeing Palestinian prisoners. Meantime, thousands of displaced Palestinians are returning to northern Gaza while in Tel Aviv, families rally as they await the return of their loved ones.

President Trump heads to the Middle east later today to take part in the official ceasefire sightings ceremony in Egypt and he'll address the Israeli government's legislature. The Knesset, a nor' easter expected to bring high tides and potentially dangerous winds to the east coast today. Conditions expected to worsen today and tomorrow. Fox Weather's Jane Menar is in Ocean City, New Jersey.

The biggest concern comes as this storm pushes up the coastline and we're going to see the potential of tidal flooding, coastal flooding in these back bays and these back streets, communities that could rival, you know, some of the worst that we've seen since Erin, which is really only two months ago. Right. And we saw tremendous flooding on the Jersey Shore. And also too many think back to storms like Superstorm Sandy near record breakers that could potentially be touched. We'll see how we go as we close out the weekend.

President announcing a 100% tariff on China on top of the 30% existing tariffs. The move is in response to the export controls that China imposed on rare earth minerals. The new tariffs are expected to take effect November 1st or sooner, depending on what else China does. The president indicated he may also cancel a planned meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at a summit with Asian countries later this month.
