It'll be life in prison for 38 year old Javon Trevino who in court apologized for drowning her four year old son and one year old daughter in a bathtub. The children's father testified in court before the sentencing and said he had to come home from work to find the children floating dead. District Judge Carly Kearney telling the defendant she would remember her case forever. In Clark County, Chief Deputy District Attorney John Giordani said this was one of the most extreme cases of matricide he'd ever seen in 15 years on the job. Police said Trevino told officers she drugged herself with sleeping aids and alcohol before carrying out the murders.

prison for the drug counselor who delivered the fatal doses of ketamine to Friends star Matthew Perry Eric Fleming is one

of five people who pleaded guilty in connection to the Friends actor's death in 2023. The 56 year old counselor connected Perry to Jasveen Singer, the convicted drug dealer who prosecutors called the ketamine queen. Last month she was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Fleming's defense lawyers asked for a three to nine month term in a residential drug treatment facility, saying that Fleming has gone to extreme lengths to atone. There's pushback against a news story claiming the U.S. central Intelligence Agency was directly involved in an assassination and other attacks on cartel members inside Mexico over the past year. Mexico's security minister writing that his government categorically rejects any versions of events that seek to normalize, justify or suggest the existence of lethal, covert or unilateral operations by foreign agencies on Mexican soil. The CDC says declines were seen across a number of drug types, including fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine.
