saying that he was going to lift the US Blockade over the Strait of Hormuz. Centcom putting out a statement making it very clear that is clearly not the case. U.S. military officials putting out a statement saying after issuing 20 warnings to a Gambia flagged vessel trying to sail towards an Iranian port, a US Aircraft fired on the ship with a Hellfire missile, hitting the ship's engine room and disabling that vessel. All of this, of course, happening as we wait for any developments coming from the White House regarding a potential deal between the US And Iran. It sounded like we were going to get one yesterday, at least from the president. But after a closed door security briefing, there haven't been any updates.

Those protests have been going on for days and have led to several violent confrontations. Six people were arrested on Friday night. Details are emerging after a deadly bus crash in Virginia Friday where the driver hit several cars, killing five people and injuring over 40 others. Five of those hurt are still hospitalized. part of the Democratic FOCUS this primary season, a Senate race in Iowa. Party leaders believe this could help Dems win back the majority in the hall. Fox's Grady Trimble is in Des Moines.

Democrats see Iowa's Senate seat vacated by retiring Senator Joni Ernst as a potential flip to win back the majority in the fall. But let's take a look at those Democratic candidates, State Rep. Josh Turek and State Senator Zach Walz. They largely agree on the economic issues, but Walz is seen as more progressive, and he's made his opposition to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer a central part of his campaign. Both candidates, though, support raising the minimum wage, increasing taxes on the wealthiest Americans, and they both oppose Trump's tariffs. The presumptive GOP nominee, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson, has President Trump's endorsement. And when it comes to those economic issues, she voted for last year's tax cut and she supports the president's tariffs.

Iowa will also be voting for a new governor in the fall, well ahead of next week's mayoral primaries. In Los Angeles, candidates are making a final push for those votes. Fox's Matt Finn.

Mayor Bass has events scheduled all across the city here this weekend. We were at one, a rally at an SEIU UN Union building. A fairly energetic crowd and large turnout for Mayor Bass, which also featured California Attorney General Rob Bonta. Spencer Pratt coming off a national media tour in New York City, where he told Fox News that he's a registered Republican but is getting most of his support from Democrats, not maga, and that he does not care about celebrity endorsements because moms and animal lovers will elect him. The energy and anticipation for the mayor's race has really been exploding here in Los Angeles. People in places like Beverly Hills in Santa Monica have been opening up their ballots only to find out they cannot vote in the mayor's race because they are not considered within the actual city of Los Angeles.
