For Republicans joining Democrats in voting yes, the measure directs President Trump to stop US Military action against Iran or get Congress's approval to declare war. It now heads to the Senate before it can go to the president's desk. House Republicans had delayed a vote on the measure two weeks ago, but criticism over the three month long war has continued as the conflict drags on with Democrats calling it reckless and costly.

Iran launched strikes into Kuwait earlier today. The president said those were in response to what US Officials said were defensive strikes by the US At Iranian target. Meanwhile, Israel and Lebanon have agreed to renew their ceasefire and create a number of security zones inside Lebanon where Hezbollah would be banned. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass facing a runoff election after she failed to get 50% of the vote in yesterday's primary.

Ballots are being counted to determine who she'll face in November's general election. With 63% of the vote counted, the AP reports Bass is in first place. Reality TV star Spencer Pratt is in second. Progressive Councilwoman Nithya Raman trailing in third in the governor's race, the top two candidates always advanced in November with 58% of the vote in Trump endorsed, former Fox News host Steve Hilton is in the lead. President Biden's former HHS secretary, Democrat Javier Becerra, is second. Billionaire Democrat Tom Steyer in third.

days left in New York's legislative session, state lawmakers are looking at which bills to prioritize, among them a one year moratorium on permits for new large scale data centers that power artificial intelligence. Concerns over the energy consumption of data centers as well as the environmental impact of led some of those lawmakers to get on board with the idea, which had initially been a push for a three year moratorium. The tech industry has opposed the measure, pushing that decision should be made on a case by case basis.
