The Supreme Court sides with a Texas man challenging a law banning drug users from owning firearms.

The Supreme Court rules unanimously Ali Daniel Hamani's Second Amendment gun rights were violated by a federal law banning gun possession by illegal drug users. The ruling does not invalidate the law, but says it's too broad, lumping occasional drug users in with addicts or people who are currently intoxicated. Hamani was indicted after Federal agents found a 9 millimeter pistol and marijuana during a search of his home in Texas in 2022. He told them he used marijuana about every other day. The law is usually used in cases involving other charges. Defense attorneys say sometimes prosecutors throw it in there as leverage. It was the only charge brought against him. President Biden's son Hunter was convicted under that law two years ago and pardoned by his father before sentencing. Chris Foster, FOX News.
