The U.S. and Iran trade strikes. I'm Kathleen Maloney, Fox News. Fox is Trey Yings with the latest.

This was the second exchange of fire this weekend between the United States and Iran. Vice President J.D. vance posted to X over the weekend saying Iran signed a ceasefire agreement. We have honored it. If they have disagreements about how the MoU is being applied, they can pick up the phone. But violence will be met with violence. The new military action comes as the situation between Israel and Hezbollah plays out on a separate but parallel track. The Israelis launched new airstrikes against Hezbollah this weekend as Hezbollah continued attacks against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Late last week, there was a diplomatic breakthrough in Washington as the Israelis and Lebanese signed a framework agreement aimed at normalizing ties between the two countries and disarming Hezbollah.

Axios now reporting that the U.S. and Iran have agreed to halt strikes and meet Tuesday in Qatar. Rescue teams from several countries join a desperate effort to rescue earthquake survivors.
Venezuela Correspondent
Venezuela time is of the essence to find any survivors underneath the rubble. A 17th floor condo has fully collapsed. We spoke to a woman whose cousin lived on the second floor of this building and she is holding out hope that her cousin is still alive.
Woman with cousin trapped
My cousin Chantal Daniela was with Antonio and he called a friend and he said that they were alive and well and in a reduced space. And that gives us some hope. We know that she might be there because the second floor is like underground American residents.

Rescue teams are here from Florida, California and Virginia. The US Embassy tells FOX the Trump administration will be here for Venezuela as long as it takes.

Louisiana Congresswoman Julia Letlow won the Republican nomination for Senate. President Trump endorsed her over incumbent Bill Cassidy on Saturday.
Political Analyst
Letlow clinched the Republican nomination comfortably with about 57% of the vote. State Treasurer John Fleming finished at 43%. Let Low's win marked a victory for President Trump as well, who had endorsed the Republican representative. She will likely succeed Senator Bill Cassidy, whom the president successfully ousted. Cassidy has broken with the president on several issues, including last week when the two had a blow up over the war in Iran. The two term incumbent accuses the president of sometimes treating Congress as an appendage, but he does believe there are other lawmakers who will hold the president accountable.

high school seniors performing at grade level in math and reading is down 4 points from 2009. Lawmakers are skeptical about AI boosting performance. There are also privacy concerns. AI could harvest what students learn. An over reliance on AI by teachers to grade papers is troubling. Some lawmakers doubt that AI can do everything. Students may question the value of an education if they can't find a job because of AI. Bipartisan lawmakers are now working on a framework to regulate AI. House Speaker Mike Johnson wants to pass that before the end of the year. On Capitol Hill, Chad Pergram, Fox News.
