Two suspects in custody after a Border Patrol officer was shot at a New York park on Saturday. Investigators say the victim, not in uniform, fought back against an attempted robbery and pulled out his service weapon after one of the suspects flashed a gun. Shots were fired and one suspect and the off duty officer were shot. DHS says both suspects are Dominican nationals who entered the country illegally during the Biden administration. Warner rose to fame on on NBC's the Cosby show, which premiered in 1984 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Playing the son of Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad's characters, Warner was a fan favorite through the show's nearly 200 episode run, earning an Emmy nomination in 1986. The commanders changed their name in 2022 after years of debate about the old name being offensive to Native Americans. The team says there's no intention of changing its name back. The Vatican says Pope Leo XIV has spoken with the Palestinian president this morning about violence in the west bank and Gaza.

A few days after speaking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Pope Leo XIV reiterates his call for peace in his phone call with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas last week. Three people were killed at the only Catholic church in Gaza in an attack the Israeli military calls accidental. The pope's warning against the indiscriminate use of force and the forced mass displacement of people in Gaza. The Palestinian Authority governs the West Bank. Abbas wants it to also take over for Hamas in Gaza when that war is over and Hamas is displaced. Prime Minister Netanyahu has rejected that idea.
