The name of the man was not officially released, but Oklahoma GOP Senator James Lankford identified the man on X as Hossam Soraya. In a comment put out by the State Department. It said the US Is calling for accountability in this situation and in all cases where US Citizens are harmed abroad. Video circulating on social media shows a number of men kneeling next to one another before soldiers shoot them at close range. Soraya is said to have held dual citizenship in the US And Syria. The State Department offered condolences and is assisting Soraya's family.
